CTU-Mt Emei Day 2
Woke up @ 0815 though we had planned to wake up at 0730 thanx to SQ's careful planning of 8 hours of sleep as he assumed that we would flop and remain unconcious the moment our head touches the pillow. Irony is that he woke up feeling even more tired than me as he had only drifted off to dreamland @ 2am. The complimentary buffet breakfast at the hotel was great with the usual, bread, noodles, cereal, fried rice & .... ... yogurt? Yeap there was no milk, just sour milk which they all call yogurt.
Right after chking out of the hotel, we hailed a cab and proceeded to Xin Nan Men bus station where we bought tickets for the 3 hour journey to Emei district. Along the way, we were abandoned and were somewhat 'cheated' to purchase the hotel tickets which we did... ... At the same time, we also booked transport to Leshan area, hoping to see the Big Buddha statue. Frankly speaking, I am not really into such stuff, but if my parents or even my grandparents are here, this is where they would surely not miss. The admission fee to enter these attractions are insanely pricey! Just to see the Giant Buddha would cost 105 Yuan and this fee excludes the transposrt fee. Heard that Mt Emei is worse; the 2 way transport would cost us 70 Yuan adn admission ti the scenic area is 120! Heard that the admission prices is going to increase the moment Mt Emei is declared as the a China's No.1 Mountain! ARGH! Nv mind, go ahead as I would have visited the place after this truip there... ...
Met another independent traveller from Guangdong with the name almost the same as mine, except that he was called Zhizu. Even the surname was the same! Such coincidence!
Anyway, witness a Xiamen couple who were overcharged for the purchase of joss sticks for praying. As SQ says, it's quite a sad thing that even the locals over price their items to the locals... The room today is so-so, quite managable, but not comparable to the previous one, obviously!
