It's my life story

2 weeks into lectures and where am I?

Well... For those of you who are still sleeping, lectures in NUS have started and it has been on-going for 2 weeks already. Checked out my room in PGPR. Slightly disappinted as it was smaller than what I expected and perhaps my toilet cleanliness standard has increased. Didn't take part in any orientation but met GZ and Jeremey who were my secondary sch friends to attend lectures with. Students rushing from point to point, catching up in their work and tutorials over a cuppa. Wow. This sure seems to be like Uni life. On one hand, I was looking forward to it, but after the fact that I am in it, it doesn't seem that fantastic afterall.

For one, I still can't get used to my life back to studying.

As much as I'm trying my best to do some catching up, I fear the worse each time I face a sum or a problem in my tutorials which I cannot solve. The thought of having a low CAP somehow scares me, honest. As much as I would like to reduce unduly pressure on myself, it is a good sign that I am acknowledging this fact to boost myself to catch up with lost times.

1 word to describe how I am feeling now: Overwhelmed.

On one hand, I wish to be having a so-called "balanced" lifestyle by taking part in various CCAs and managing my never-ending reading materials and work load, but on the other, I refuse to put my name down on lists as I detest committment to a particular activity. Such irony. Boo hoo.

For now, I just hope to bring up more enthusiasm within myself and hopefully, when I wake up each day, I will look forward to lessons instead of dreading them.

My thoughts now? It seemed like yesterday that I was enlisted in some grp which all Singaporeans must go thru to waste 2 years of their lives. After celebrating 2 Chinese New Years, we have discharged our liabilities and can carry on with our next phase of life. But such policies have a great impact on us that some of my friends chose to study abroad instead of staying on in Singapore. Certainly those 2 years have changed their perception of Singapore.

For better or for worse? You tell me.
