Superstar Virgo

Had a 3 day getaway from Singapore last weekend. The last time I boarded one of of Star Cruise vessels was in 1995 when Star Aquarius was launched in Singapore and there was a lot of hype on cruising. More than 10 years later, I went on board Virgo that afternoon for my weekend cruise with my grandma and my family.

After gathering all the passports, I went ahead to check in and collected the keycards that would be our on board credit card as well.

The vessel departed at 9pm and we started off with dinner at some Chinese restaurant which was a buffet. In fact, every meal was a buffet. The chinese food served was such that it came in a standard set of 5 course meal, but we could re-order any of the dishes to our liking if we wanted.

Took a photo of what was to be served for lunch for Chinese food.

My sis and I went for the fine western dining for lunch on the second day instead. :)

Appetizers:
Sweet corn soup didn't live up to the standards, but the pan-fried mushrooms or sute mushrooms or what sounded kinda not bad so we tried ordering. And they were right. It was not mushroom but mushroomS. TWO MUSHROOMS.

Main course: I had spaghetti with tempura cheese fish. (okay, i forgot what it was called, but it was fish cooked with cheese and spaghetti or so I thought that was it.) My sis had beef that was well done. The meat was so juicy and it was not that hard rock.

Desserts! Was so bloated by then that we couldn't even order more. :( Admittedly, we decided on Western food because of the desserts. There was this Yogurt with raspberry-donno-what also but we were more enticed by the ice cream.

View of the adult pool deck on the second day!
Notice the slide that is super duper long?! Finally, some smart-thinking people decided to inject fun for adults in the pool! Went on it for like donno how many times. Not as scary as I thought. My aunt went on it and she got stuck in the slide while the rest of us who were queuing to get on the slide were freezing at the waiting area at the top of the stairs.

Part of the slide that was extended out of the ship above the water. When you slide right, you can't even sit inside and enjoy the views from there cos' you are moving at such a high speed. Quite fun though.

Of course, there is always the gin-na pool for the kiddies which is situated at the other end of the boat. Helps to reduce noise pollution at the adults pool anyway.

I went on the slide while my sis went to the gym. Was having fun till...

the staff started to layout the poolside BBQ. OMG. It was so enticing that...
I stopped swimming (or to be exact, soaking in the hot water of the jacuzzi) and ran out for the food. YUMS! It was so good. And I had like 7 rounds of Lime Sherbert for dessert and 4 or 5 bowls of the corn with crabmeat soup. ;)

When my sis came out of the gym to look for me for dinner, I was stuffed full already. Heh. The band played my fav "Bleeding Love" and "I'm Yours" among all the other wonderful songs under the night skies. It was awesome. :)

If that was not all, my sis and I went for SUPPER at 11pm. It was like darn good. Aye yar, everything was darn good. Think we slept right after that. No wonder, I gained 4kg over the weekend.

Okay, gotta run off those calories now!

Oh, a picture of my toilet cubicle. Oh wait, I mean room.

Gosh, heading to Taiwan next week for even more good food. GRARRHHH!!!! ROAR!

grading in NUS

Came across this article while surfing the web today. Thought it was kinda interesting that actually a professor in NUS acknowledges some problems with the grading system.

They should quickly change the system lar. But then again, now that I have completed my studies, heck lar. Keep this system.

Final Examinations

Literally, this ought to be final examinations ever, at least as an undergrad. Looking back, it has been quite an ordeal at some points, but it was an experience nonetheless.

This wraps up another chapter of my life, I guess.

A new start awaits in June. ;)

Meanwhile, gotta get into my racers again. :p Used my Asics trainers for only thrice. HA!

Leona Lewis is good. :)
