Some random stuff

To prevent any stupid Chikuguniya mosquitoes from flying around my estate, I have decided to buy a new pack of Baygone to keep the mozzies away.

It had better work like it said "30 nights without mosquitoes" (label on the box) with the price that I paid for it, not counting the actual thing which I have to plug into the socket.

And this is the picture which was the darn small and cute cat that I met the other time on my way home/while running. Look how small it is compared to my Adidas. :) Awww...
It certainly had some high class taste man since he only ate my chicken chop and not the biscuits. Sheesh. But nvm lar. So cute. Too bad my mum wld object to it staying over at my place.

Took this photo after processing the NZ visa and waited for Tim to turn up.

Took this from the top of Hougang Mall.Not bad eh? And without a tripod some more!

Shucks. Now my spacebar is behaving cranky just because I opened it. ARGH!

events over the weekend

Had hell lot of fun over the weekend --- and when that happens, it comes with a price: I sacrificed my precious sleep. And to those whom I met over the weekend: "Be honoured that I gave up my sleep for ya!"

Let me start on Sat:
=========================
Woke up at 5am on Saturday. Quite a superbly early time for a night owl like me. Had to send my parents to their friend's place who will in turn drive them up to Malaysia over the weekend. So, feeling less than perkish, I drove to 1 of Hougang's hawker on my way home for some food at 6am. Driving in the early morning is pretty interesting as the roads are clear and the traffic is extremely light. Reached home before 7am and caught a few shows on TV before I plonked myself on the sofa for another 2 hrs of sleep.

Realising that it's almost 1pm, I jumped outta the sofa (reluctantly) and headed straight to brush my teeth (yesh, I brushed at 1pm after eating my breakfast) to meet up with yt at Chinatown to shop for some New Year goodies. Followed the trail of food carts and bought pineapple tarts and some really cheap sweets. Was kinda weary till I chanced upon my favourite "tu tu kueh" there! :)

Donno how we walked and we ended ourselves at Maxwell market where I got to really witness for myself the delicious food there! YUMS! Then YT told me that the fish beehoon there is v good. And sure it is, at 3pm, there was still a queue outside the stall! Ordered a bowl and shared. But because it tasted so good, I bought another only to feel ultra bloated at the end of it.

Took 166 to AMK hub. YT was trying to humour me on the bus, but I couldn't really remember what she said as I was still vvvvvvv sleepy. So, I took it that she talked nonsense and decided to rest my brain while nodding at everything she said.

I shopped for some T-shirts at "natural project" there. Not bad, that shop never fails to amaze me with nice T-shirts. It's like it has been set up for me! And thank goodness YT didn't shop much too, else my shoulders and hands would ache from carrying all her the stuff.

Caught "The Mist" which ended off with a really sick joke. Preposterous!
Everyone in the cinema clapped their hands when this old hag who kept preaching abt "judgement day" was shot in the forehead. She kinda irked me too.

Went down to shop around AMK area and shared Pineapple rice before I took a bus back.

On Sunday:
===================================
My alarm rang at 1030am but I snoozed it till almost 1110am only to jump outta bed and rush down to meet up with the peeps at Dhoby Ghaut. Apparently, Matt had booked a place at Tao Restaurant after Jackson and I recommended the hungrygowhere.com website. As usual, I've forgotten to bring the camera so couldn't take photos. But somehow I managed to grab Jackson's cam to take a few shots of the nice food there. Quite an interesting place with nice food. HA! It has been more than 7 years but everyone still looked the same! Told ya' we're young!
Felt like a curious kid when playing with WJ's i-touch/i-pod touch. A vvvv cool gadget! Seeing it through pictures is 1 thing. Being able to personally play with this gadget is so much better!
All my pic is with Jackson now. Heh! So now waitin for his entry to appear then i shall hyperlink u peeps there!

Went to collect the Abalone set from ABN Amro at Shaw Centre, only to realise that I would have to go back to the same place again to collect some premium from Singnet at the same place next week when they deliver the letter. (-,-)

When I reached home, Kevin gave me a scare when he asked if I wanna run. As much as I wanted to, it was raining. Awww.... So no choice lar. :p

=====================
And my current mouth condition is improving! :)
So, I'm only taking 1 course of painkiller a day! Yay!
It's so troublesome to depend my life on such drugs. Wonder how drug addicts lead their lives man. Even the usage of syringe to inject drugs into their own body is just... plain painful! How can anyone be so SM and still get 'high'?

That's just sick man.

p.s.--- My dentist told me that I have a nicely mantained teeth during my post-op checkup. I was praised! :)

p.p.s --- had a nightmare yesterday. Luckily some people didn't come into the story to make it worse. Thank goodness.

Now, more than ever, a great way to bleed.

Since that very dreadful day, I have been on painkillers to numb the entire feeling of sting in my mouth. On the second day, I attempted a horrible feat --- skipped 1 course of paracetamol. But apparently, it was so bad that I couldn't even sleep and thus, I ended up consuming 2 tablets of the stronger does of painkillers only to have its effect come in after an hour or so.

And even sleeping was a whole new experience by itself. Having popped 2 tablets the night before at about 9am, I was rudely awakened by the acute pain at 7am since the effects would have worn off by then. So, it's currently 5am here and I'm typing this because I can't sleep. Tried to reduce my reliance on pills but apparently, when the time comes, my mouth would send me a reminder thru the nerves to my brains. And each time that my mouth feels this sharp stinging pain, the blood would come with it complimentry as well. FYI, if the pain feels like a very bad toothache with a super severe ulcer to top it up. Throw in a bit of "itch" and... VIOLA! --- you get what Im experiencing now!

However, things are completely different when I do consume my medicine timely. Not only does the teeth not hurt, it feels like nothing actually happened to my mouth such that I can almost eat anything I like. Take today for instance, I was able to eat out for dinner with my family at Riverside Indonesian Restaurant with the chilli and all and feel darn good at the end of it (minus the part where some food gets stuck behind my teeth). And that's because I consumed 2 pills before I left the car at Liang Court. Time was about 7.30pm then.

So now, I just consumed 1 tablet cos' it was so bad that I couldn't sleep, even with natural endopines after a run at 4am. It's disgusting to look at the amount of paracetamol that I have taken over less than a week. I completed 20 already and thats not even counting the more potent painkillers which I popped a few during the first day.

------------------------------------------

Was out to Courts Megastore at Tampines last weekend with my Grandma and had a chat with her at my place thereafter over dinner. Purchased a new HP desktop and currently, it's our house prized possession. Took the entire Monday to set up the computer so that it would be able to "talk" to the home network. Took me some time to get used to Vista OS. Upgraded my internet speed last weekend as well so I should be able to have a new experience from this Thursday onwards. Did I mention that I finally cleaned my table on Monday as well? =) So it looks tad clean now (to my standards at least). :)
-------------------------------------------

It hurts so bad. And I'm sure the cycle will repeat again. So it's going to hurt when I wake up. No. I shouldn't be saying that. It should be "it's going to hurt so much so that I will wake up".

Im apparently no different from a dracula. I drink my own blood in my mouth. I sleep early (like now almost 6am) and I'm nocturnal. YAY! The 1 piece paracetamol is coming to effect now! And yeaps! going to sleep peeps! =)

day surgery at mt alvernia

As I said, I do trust the dentist performing the incision of my wisdom teeth. So, early that morning, I checked into the hospital for my Day Surgery. As a matter of fact, I gotta be there 2 hrs before the surgery begins and so, I was there at 8. Literally laid on the bed staring into space till the newspaper arrived. Barely before I could read the first article, I was pushed into the operating theatre. And that was when I got my first needle jab. Wasn't as pain as I thought, and before long I could feel my entire left hand feeling pretty numb. Then the feeling spreaded to my entire body. At the same time, I had to breathe his weird gas and before long, I was knocked out. Couldn't even remember when I knocked out, except I think the last few words were "Oh erm... did you remember to buy ice cream?" --asks the dentist.

I was really gasping for air when I woke up. The entire process wasn't painful cos' I didn't feel a thing but I was truely breathless. The 2 thick gauze in my mouth was obstructing my breathing and 1 of my nostrils is stuck. After checking to ensure that I'm feeling fine, they pushed me back to the ward to rest.

When I woke up, I realised that the needle was still in my hand like this:

Kinda freaky man. And the nurse didn't wanna remove it till before I leave. So, didn't really rest well cos' the thought of something in my hand is kinda uncomfortable and irritating. Even going to toilet, I had to bring that thing (needle) along with me cos it'embedded in my hands. When I was abt to leave finally, they removed the needle and there was so much blood man! COS THE NEEDLE WAS SO THICK. *SHUDDERS*

And yes, I got my 4 wisdom teeth in a bottle. Maybe I shall put them under the pillow in exchange for some $ from the tooth faerie. =) If not, I shall throw it over the roof for some good luck (I think). =)

Just in case everyone is wondering, my hand hurts more than my teeth. As I said, the NEEDLE WAS SO THICK!!!!

Sheesh.

And the story continues...

So, to continue with the story, I actually went down to NUS this morning and reached there at noon time to collect that letter before heading down to Civic Plaza (once again) for the very same reason. So, my application was accepted but there was a bit of problem with some very slow administration on NZ immigration and the partner university. Long story and complicated too.

My day was kinda like bugged when I realised that I would have to head down to settle my wisdom teeth. The thought of having my gums cut and stitched up is just... plain gross. Usually, the word "sew" is associated with clothes, but now... with my gums?!?!? And I can almost imagine blood spurtin' outta the gums like scenes from "SAW" movies like the Sentosa Muscial Fountains.

My energy is sapped from doing anything now. Feels darn disgusted and sick.

Nila told me to schedule the op in the evening so at least I can sleep right after that till the next day. This means that I gotta be like a camel and stock up on food in my stomach the night before.

No wonder SQ says that if I wanna be a sadist, it's good to be a dentist cos' u get to make others feel pain and yet receive payment for it.

Despite so, I trust her. My dentist is more than qualified to do the job. =)
ZG has confidence in her.

What he lacks now is to schedule an apptment... (Heh.)

Tim's birthday

Had a gathering with my relatives friends and relatives last weekend. And it was also on that day that my dentist called to remind me of the Wisdom teeth extraction operation. *shivers down the spine*

Early on the last day of 2007, I woke up at 8am and left for Ngee Ann City once again to (hopefully) complete my NZ visa application since it was (again) opened for only 2 hours. They sure know how to declare holidays to enjoy good life man. FYI, the NZ immigration closed for holidays from 25-30 dec and 1st jan. So much for doing work... ... ... and I couldn't even complete the application cos' I lack that letter from NUS. Ah wells. Wanted to rush down to NUS IRO to get it but apparently I remembered that the registrar office sent an email to all NUS affiliations that they declared 31dec as a holiday.

So, I felt like... this -> >:(

Moving forward to that same afternoon, shopped ard with Tim and had lunch before proceeding to Tampines swimming pool for a dip. Despite the sun way up in the sky at 3pm, the water was freezing cold. During the duration between each swim lap, I felt really ice cold and yet after the entire swim, my back had this very hot sun-burn effect.

Had some snacks (aka good food) around Tampines mall before heading to meet up with my sis at Hougang mall. Was really feeling v tired then since I only slept 4 hrs that day and the heated shoulders aren't helping. In short, that night, my sisters' friends all came over and spent their New Year at my place.

Early the next morning, it was Tim's birthday. Yes, 1st Jan. Thought I would be late when I boarded the NEL at 1130am. Only to realise that JH mistook the time for 1pm instead. HEH. Had lunch at Swensen's and we had this birthday promotion --- 4 main course for the price of 3 and a free happy birthday fire ice cream or however u called that. Ate till we became bloated and Tim foot the bill. Thanx man! =)

Headed to Snow City there after. There was this weird stench at the entrance and I thought JH/Alien/Tim forgotten to bathe :p But actually it was the stench of wet boots without air-drying them. Relucatantly I placed my feet into the snow shoes. :( They became wet instantly. BLEAH!

Sneaked a camera in my pocket into the Snow Chamber. Luckily didn't purchase the 2 hr tix cos'
1. it wasn't that big to frolic within
2. they didn't monitor how long u stayed within actually (so u could have stayed for the entire day and no one knows)
3. I didn't want to become a snowman.

Snap a few pictures within and I thought my ears almost dropped when the 3 of them threw snow in my jacket. SHEESH. EVIL. And the sound of Alien screaming when the 4 of us went down the slide together was really... deafening.

Took more photos horsing ard at the Kinetic Gardens. WOOHOO! WOW! It sure was a good time at Jurong West (and they still made so much noise abt the travelling time, etc.)

----------------------

Met my parents in the evening with Grandma for some good Teochew dinner at Toa Payoh before heading back. Deadbeat.

Remind me to call NUS IRO tml.

And yesh! Happy Birthday Tim! To the rest of you: Happy New Year!
